The Dichotomy at MACO 8/09
This morning, Shari Elliker of WBAL Radio (1090 AM) explored the strange dichotomy of Governor O'Malley and his staff at MACO last week.
The public face of O'Malley & staff was solemn and retrospective as they prepared to furlough state employees and make drastic cuts to certain public services that will be announced next week.
In private, the O'Malley staff enjoyed partying at the beach in OC's finest fashion oblivious to the plight of Marylanders suffering under the misjudgments over budget policy made by the O'Malley Administration.
The party photographs were part of a Facebook entry by an O'Malley staffer, first exposed by Adam Pagnucco of Maryland Politics Watch (click here). His blog contains several updates to the original story as staffers pulled selections of photos off the internet.
The Shari Elliker post (click here) reads as follows:
Governor O'Malley & Mayor Dixon Party It Up!

Governor Martin O'Malley made a big deal about wanting to have a "sober" Maryland Association of Counties conference last week.
But one of his staffers proved otherwise by releasing a whopping 115 party-time photos to the public on Facebook.
Who knew that hundreds of millions of dollars in budget cuts could be so much fun?
See the photos before they dissapear.
