About Us

Every four years, Marylanders go to the polls to elect their representatives to the Maryland State Senate.  This website represents members of the Maryland Senate GOP Slate.

Currently, there are 14 Republican Senators representing all or parts of 18 of Maryland's 23 counties ranging from Deep Creek Lake all the way to Ocean City and much in between.  Over the last 20 years, we have seen a dramatic increase in our membership.  In the 1983 election cycle, there were only 6 Republicans compared to a total of 14 of 47 Senators today.

Our members bring a wide berth of experience to the legislature and come from a wide variety of backgrounds.  Senators in our slate include the largest cabbage farmer on the east coast, former teachers, a claims adjuster, a workers' compensation attorney, a corner store owner, a technology expert for a Fortune 500 company, a town manager, a Johns Hopkins anesthesiologist, and staffer for a government think tank and more. 

The Maryland Senate GOP Slate is led by Senator Allan Kittleman (Howard and Carroll Counties) as Minority Leader and Senator Nancy Jacobs (Harford and Cecil Counties) as Minority Whip.
