Save The Date! May 21st Fundraiser
Dear Friend: We just finished a brutal session in Annapolis. The Democratic Leadership forced its extreme-left agenda on all of us. The Democrats handed out big wins to labor unions and other special interests at the expense of taxpayers, homeowners, and small businesses. Anyone in the real world knows that we should be reining in the growth of government. But once again, they are simply spending more money than they have. This past session, Republicans were successful at killing bad bills. Governor O’Malley watched as some of his legislative priorities failed and others were amended. Republicans worked hard to successfully keep Maryland’s death penalty on the books. We stopped the Democrats’ efforts to repeal the law that requires Republican Election Judges be present at the polls on Election Day. Looking ahead to 2010, our goal is to pick up five Republican seats in the Maryland Senate. With five more seats, we will be able to filibuster other bad bills and prevent them from becoming law. The primary purpose of the MD Senate GOP Slate is to raise money to help Republican challengers overcome the incumbent fundraising advantage enjoyed by many of the Democrats. To do this, we need your help. We are holding our first fundraising event of the year on Thursday, May 21st, at Matapeake Clubhouse & Public Beach on Kent Island for a sunset reception on the Chesapeake Bay. The Clubhouse just opened and it should make for a beautiful evening. This is an opportunity for you to learn more about what is happening in Annapolis and see our Republican Senators. I am asking you to take a stand today and buy a ticket for $100, or even help sponsor this event at the $500 or $250 level. These funds will allow us to start recruiting quality candidates for 2010. It is time to put an end to the monopoly and restore balance to Annapolis. To do this, we need the support of people like you who are ready for a change. We need you with us. Please let me hear from you as soon as possible. Sincerely, Allan H. Kittleman, Senate Minority Leader
